ABOUT

Mackenzie is a life-long lover of people and community and believes that no one should have to walk through this life alone. Everyone has a unique and beautiful story to tell, but sometimes it can be hard to make sense of it all without someone in your corner reflecting back truths about who you are. Mackenzie loves to champion people and help remind them of their inherent value as an individual in this world and encourage them to live courageously.

Mackenzie believes that there is freedom to be found in every person’s life and works to offer that to her clients through gentle encouragement and truth, as well as fostering a collaborative environment to help each person pursue a life of freedom uniquely tailored to them. Mackenzie finds joy in helping others develop an understanding of their life story and how it has shaped them as an individual. She believes it is important to know where you come from to really be able to pursue who you want to become. Mackenzie is a counselor that is dedicated to learning and growing alongside her clients and has spent significant time gaining knowledge, experience, and training to ensure her clients receive the care that they deserve. She loves being a steady hand to hold and a gentle voice of encouragement for those navigating through hard times.

Mackenzie enjoys working with children, teens, young adults, and parents of littles. Her specialties include OCD, anxiety, identity work, issues of divorce and familial transition, women’s issues, story work, and confidence building. Her favorite counseling modalities include Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Art Therapy and Narrative Therapy. She loves to cultivate a calming and understanding space for clients to feel heard and be reminded that they are not alone. Her goal is for every individual to better understand themselves, their lives, and their purpose through self compassion, intentional daily practices, and finding courage to pursue a life of freedom, growth, and health. Mackenzie believes every life deeply matters and holds hope that through the therapeutic process her clients would come to believe the same.

Mackenzie is happily married to her college sweetheart and has just recently moved back to Cincinnati after a 2-year adventure in Colorado. She is a lover of home, community, and family and is thrilled to be back in the Midwest with her people. In her spare time, Mackenzie loves to dedicate time to her church, try new restaurants and coffee shops with friends and family, and cuddle her brand-new golden retriever puppy. You can often find her reading her favorite story books “The Chronicles of Narnia” and “Hinds Feet on High Places”, sipping an iced latte, listening to a podcast, and spending time in the sun. Mackenzie has taken the journey of finding freedom and self-understanding over the course of her own life and believes her unique experiences have allowed her to join people in their hardest moments in a meaningful and beautiful way.
