WELCOME!
I consider it an honor and a privilege to walk alongside my clients towards greater healing and wholeness. I am continually humbled by my clients’ bravery and resilience as they push past their hardships in pursuit of what truly matters to them.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN WORKING WITH ME: Compassion / Curiosity / Challenge
I strive to create a warm therapeutic environment and have deep respect and compassion for my clients’ lives and histories. As a naturally inquisitive person, my clients find that I ask insightful questions that lead to a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships and set the tone for healing and growth. Expect to be (gently) challenged to live more in accordance with your expressed goals for therapy and values in life.
AREAS OF SPECIALITY: Couples & Family Therapy / Trauma
We can all get stuck in the same ways of interacting in our relationships, even if they cause us pain and hinder our connection with others. Getting unstuck can be hard without help. Together, we will bring to light some of these underlying patterns and interactions, where they might have come from, and determine whether they are serving your relationships. If they are not, we will find new ways of relating that bring about individual and relational growth, healing, and intimacy.
Even if the trauma has passed, we can continue to relive it as if it were happening right now. In therapy, we will sensitively pay attention to the ways trauma might be showing up in your life and find ways to experience relief and freedom from the past and to thrive in the present.
PERSONALLY:
I am a wife and a mom of two sweet boys. I grew up in Canada as a second-generation immigrant before then migrating to the U.S. as an adult. My family and I love to share a good meal with others and spend time outdoors.
I look forward to working with you! — Tamara
